Retrieve Pre-Activation Windows Xp Information OEM only

After some research on how to get each pc to use the key that they come with, without having to type them down manually after Sysprep I found this.

At John Jay College each dell come with Certificate of Authenticity attached to the PC (COA Key)

each of the key are stored in the Bios using SLP method along with Pre-Activation information.

When you use Dell CD it will never ask for Product Key when it being installed on the Dell Machine.

Here is the special key provided by microsoft to tell windows to look in the Bios for Pre-Activation and Key informations.

Windows XP Professional 32 bit

MVF4D-W774K-MC4VM-QY6XY-R38TB

Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

XT67V-GY7FW-GR6FR-WDK2C-8T97J

Windows XP Professional x64 bit

FM634-HJ3QK-6QVTY-RJY4R-XCR9J

* the keys above are provided by Microsoft publicly and it were intended for Pre-Activation purposes

Using these key and integrated them to sysprep this will be very useful when rolling out 5-100 computers.

I will later post my integration with Hardware Independence Image

Office 2007 Unattended

Source:
http://www.msfn.org/board/Office-2007-Unattended-Setup-and-Fine-tuning-t72392.html

I followed the first step on that site

basically Extracted Office 2007 image to Folder -> go to Run -> [office2007 folder] /admin (ie. "E:\OFFICE 2007\OFFICE12\setup.exe" /admin ) then follow those step on that screen.

You might run into Proofing tools with Office 2007 (Spell check not there) basically I went back to Office Customize Tool -> Set feature installation states -> Office Shared Features -> Proofing tool -> Run all from my computer or Just the English if you prefer.

Welcome

This will be dedicated to my Job at John Jay College.

I will be posting some technical problems and solutions that I encountered at work.

Also some new idea that I am working on.

List of what I have contributed to this college/department:

Multiple Network Cards Ghost Boot CD - eliminated floopy disks
Setup DHCP server on the ghost cloning machine to eliminate static ip for each client
Automation Self Install Softwares - Fully Unattended or Require one or two clicks
Block MyspaceIM - Very Evil of me
Default Setting/Configuration - Copy User Profile to Default Profile ( C:\Documents and Settings\Default )
Strengthen Local Group Policy

As of now I am working on:

Hardware Independence XP Ghost Image - To reduce amount of image for all PCs.
- Using VMware to build the Image
- For Dell Optiplex Gx 240, 260, 270, 280, 620, 745, 755
- Will automatically retrieve oem windows xp key from the Bios (SLP)

Blocking Torrent application on user end
- ????? Some way some how????

I will be posting instructions later and more to come
